Job summary

DPD is recruiting an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen our depot operations and leadership of a fast-paced driver team. You will engage self-employed Owner Drivers and Employed Drivers, ensuring service excellence and strong driver motivation across routes and collections.

Your role includes targeting core routes, managing SPR, routing accuracy, and timely loading, with focus on safety, performance and compliant documentation. A proactive, collaborative leader is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast paced operation with people management responsibility.
• Ability to motivate and lead a high performing team in a transport setting.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve depot targets for Core Routes and SPR (Stops Per Route).
• Set and supervise delivery & collection routes.
• Ensure drivers scan and load vans safely and on time.
• Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues.
• Ensure adequate resources for ad-hoc collections via drivers or couriers.
• Ensure documentation and systems are completed accurately per requirements.
• Work to set KPIs including Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and Health & Safety.
• Ensure Depot Clear is achieved in line with targets.
