Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, is looking for a proactive Shift Manager to lead Warehouse and Driving teams, delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining high safety standards.

You will recruit, onboard and develop staff while ensuring efficient daily operations and strong vendor relationships. Enjoy a 4-on, 4-off schedule (7am–7pm), a competitive salary of £39,899 per year, and generous benefits including DFS/Sofology discounts and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a delivery, logistics, or field-ops setting.
• Strong budget management and cost-control capabilities.
• Proven track record in achieving high service standards and customer satisfaction.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and coaching staff.

What you’ll be doing

• From supporting the Warehouse and Driving teams to ensuring compliance and high service standards, you’ll be at the heart of it all. You’ll also help recruit, onboard, and train new colleagues, setting them up for success so they can create great customer experiences.
• Overseeing daily operations of the Customer Delivery Centre (CDC).
• Ensuring every delivery is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Supporting the Customer Delivery Manager in building strong customer relationships.
• Leading, coaching, and developing your team to deliver their best work.
• Managing compliance for vehicles, trailers, and driver regulations.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
• Assisting with recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
