Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company is seeking a dependable delivery driver to join a two-person team, delivering and installing furniture with care in customers' homes. You will operate on a 4-on/4-off schedule, earning £32,723 per year plus up to £2,000 annual bonus and a £1,000 sign-on bonus, with generous staff benefits.

You’ll work 7am–7pm, complete 10–15 deliveries daily, and use the Apollo route planner to optimise routes while ensuring safety and excellent service for DFS and Sofology customers.

Qualifications

• Holding a 7.5T Licence with Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence.
• 12 months driving experience with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Able to work in a two-person delivery team installing furniture in customers' homes.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes safely and professionally.
• Coordinate with customers prior to delivery to confirm arrival.
• Deliver furniture to requested room and remove rubbish.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company brands and values in all actions.
• Work with team and managers to improve service standards.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment daily; report defects immediately.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2‑person delivery team, completing 10–15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if...

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• You take pride in your work and value safety – of yourself and those around you.
