Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company is hiring for a hands-on delivery role in the United Kingdom. You will operate in a two-person team, delivering and installing furniture in customers' homes while providing excellent service and maintaining vehicle safety and adherence to routes.

Expect a demanding but rewarding position with a predictable 4-on/4-off schedule, a stable annual salary of £37,271 plus a potential £2,000 bonus, and a £1,000 sign-on bonus paid in instalments.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 7.5T licence with CPC and Digi Tacho.
• Valid driver’s licence held for 12 months with fewer than 6 points.
• Able to install and lift heavy furniture as part of a two-person team.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers' homes safely and professionally.
• Communicate with customers before delivery to confirm arrival times.
• Deliver furniture to the specified room and clear rubbish where applicable.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company and its brand partners in all interactions.
• Collaborate with team and management to improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks and report defects.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies.

You'll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers' homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you'll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers' homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you're on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if...

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• You take pride in your work and value safety - of yourself and those around you.
