Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, is seeking a hands-on delivery colleague in Golborne. You’ll join a two-person team, delivering and installing furniture in customers’ homes with a focus on safety and quality.

Training is provided and you’ll be part of a supportive network across DFS brands. You’ll work a 4-on, 4-off pattern from 7am to 7pm, with a guaranteed workload, a competitive salary (£28,082 per year) and an annual bonus up to £2,000.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence (max 6 points) required.
• Great with people and customer-focused.
• Comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes safely and professionally.
• Communicate with customers prior to delivery to confirm timing.
• Deliver furniture to the specified room and remove rubbish where applicable.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values with partners in everything you do.
• Work with the team and managers to improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws and company policies.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2‑person delivery team, completing 10–15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if…

• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You take pride in your work and value safety – of yourself and those around you.
