Job summary

Kalmar is seeking a Shift Maintenance Technician to maintain, service and repair Kalmar and third‑party equipment from our workshop in the UK. You will report to the UK Service Manager and deliver exceptional customer service through technical expertise.

This role requires diagnostics, fault finding, and ongoing improvements to equipment performance while adhering to safety standards in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams; fault-finding and diagnostics of PLC and CANBUS systems.
• Strong customer focus and safety awareness.

As a Shift Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing Kalmar and third-party equipment. Reporting to the UK Service Manager, you will ensure high-quality maintenance support while delivering exceptional customer service through your technical expertise and professional interactions. This is a workshop-based position, requiring a proactive approach to diagnostics, repairs, and continuous improvement of equipment performance.

What You Bring To The Role

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
• Technical Expertise: Proven skills in maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems. The ability to read wiring diagrams and experience in fault-finding and diagnostics of PLC and CANBUS systems.
