Job summary

Position 1 Recruitment are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer for the Evening Shift at a Norwich-based manufacturing site. You will perform planned maintenance on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, diagnose faults, carry out repairs (including welding) and keep detailed records.

The role requires proven maintenance engineering experience in an industrial environment, strong electrical fault-finding, schematic reading, and the ability to work independently while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills; read electrical schematics.
• Good mechanical knowledge including welding and machinery repairs.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and manage workload.
• Fenestration industry experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery faults using drawings and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including welding where required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Support general site and facilities maintenance and ensure health and safety compliance.

Maintenance Engineer – Evening Shift

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Norwich

Salary: £18.00 – £19.00 per hour

Shift Pattern

• Monday – Thursday: 3:00pm – 12:00am
• Friday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm

Position 1 Recruitment are currently working with a well-established manufacturing company who are looking to recruit a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join their Evening Shift team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery faults using technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Repair or replace faulty components, including carrying out welding repairs where required
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Support general site and facilities maintenance when necessary
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Previous experience within the fenestration industry would be highly advantageous
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Good mechanical knowledge, including welding and machinery repairs
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
