Job summary

Catering in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, is recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to support an automated factory environment. You will work in a rotating shift pattern and cover reactive repairs, planned maintenance and installations.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance (mechanical or electrical), NVQ Level 3/4, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/process environment (mechanical or electrical bias).
• Engineering Level 3 and 4 NVQ qualifications; HND or C&G equivalent advantageous.
• Self-motivated with ability to make decisions and respond to business needs.
• Ability to work across management levels and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office usage.
• Record PPM information accurately in CMMS.
• Logical fault-finding approach with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel for offsite training and other factories.
• Experience with conveyors, boilers, packaging, bearings, belts, motors, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics is welcome.

Role: Shift Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum

Hours: Rotating shift pattern (Early's/lates)

Location: Commutable from Malmesbury, Faringdon, Chippenham, Swindon

Shift Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

Maintenance Engineers (Shift Engineers) support the production machinery including reactive, trouble-shooting and repair tasks, planned preventative maintenance, new installations and refurbishments. This would suit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who likes variation, looking to upskill in electrical maintenance and fault finding, to work across a range of machinery and equipment, who arent afraid to apply themselves and learn.

Shift Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years maintenance experience working in a manufacturing/process environment. (mechanical or electrical bias)
• Completed an Engineering Level 3 and 4 NVQ qualification. A Higher National Diploma will be a distinct advantage or C&G equivalent.
• You will be self-motivated, able to make decisions and react quickly to the needs of the business.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff and work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. (Inc. use of MS Office)
• To record PPM information into a CMMS system accurately.
• A logical approach to fault finding with a high attention to detail.
• Able to travel to offsite training facilities and other factories in the group, as and when required
• Have ANY of the following experience; conveyors, boilers, packaging, bearings, belts, 3 phase, motors, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, 3 phase, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, belts, bearings etc. any of these will be considered
• Friendly and adaptable working attitude
• Proactive work attitude and keen to get your hands dirty
