Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking a Warehouse Shift Lead in Scunthorpe to lead a team through safe, efficient receipt, storage, picking and despatch of stock. You will translate daily plans into priorities, allocate labour, monitor progress and drive improvements while ensuring food safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in warehouse operations and familiarity with RF systems and stock control.

Qualifications

Experience leading or supervising a team in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment.
Practical understanding of warehouse safety, safe systems of work and incident reporting.
IOSH or equivalent safety qualification; food safety training.
Confident using warehouse systems, RF equipment and Microsoft applications; understands stock control.
Experience with cycle counting, FEFO and investigation of stock variances.
Able to allocate work, set standards, coach colleagues and address performance fairly.

Responsibilities

Start each shift with a clear plan, team brief and allocation of work.
Monitor progress and balance labour between activities.
Maintain shift handover covering safety, service and stock.
Provide visible leadership on the warehouse floor.
Complete safety checks and report incidents promptly.
Maintain food safety, hygiene, allergen and temperature-control standards.
Coordinate inbound, put-away, replenishment, picking, loading and despatch activities.
Ensure all stock movements are scanned and recorded in real time.
Review KPI results and contribute to improvements.
Control consumables and waste; support audits and projects.
