Job summary

Arriva TrainCare in Crewe is seeking a Shift Fitter to maintain rail vehicles at the Crewe depot on a 4-on 4-off night shift (19:00–06:00). You will work under the Service Delivery Leader, ensuring work is completed to quality standards while following safety and environmental procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 Engineering qualification and hands-on experience in rail vehicle maintenance, with a solid grasp of depot operations and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering
• Involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
• Good understanding of depot operations with ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to recognised standards
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required within depot operating limits and procedures
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to
• Ensure work sheets are signed off promptly on completion of work
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings and act on items raised
