Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a depot-based maintenance engineer at Crewe to service rail vehicles to defined procedures. You will report to the team leader and work at the Crewe depot, following safety, quality and environmental rules.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Engineering and hands-on rail vehicle maintenance experience, with the ability to read engineering drawings and apply mechanical and electrical knowledge. Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, 19:00–06:00.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
• Experience with rail vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures
• Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction
• Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work
• Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised

The Role

Working in our Crewe depot and reporting into the team leader you will be responsible for providing maintenance of rail vehicles to the laid down procedures.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• Qualifications - minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering
• Experience - involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
• Knowledge - good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Engineering - strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
