Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a Shift Fitter (Nights) to join the Crewe depot. You will perform maintenance on rail vehicles, operate vehicles as needed, and ensure safety, quality, and environmental procedures are followed.

The role requires a Level 3 Engineering qualification and experience with depot operations and engineering drawings. The position offers 4 on 4 off nights (19:00–06:00) with a permanent contract and a salary around £44,609 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
• Experience and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required within depot operating limits and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
• Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
• Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
