Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a Shift Fitter to join the Light Maintenance team at the Crewe depot. You will carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to set standards, working a 4 on 4 off night rota (19:00–06:00) and reporting to the Service Delivery Leader.

The role includes a permanent contract with a competitive salary and benefits. Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3, experience with rail traction and rolling stock, and a solid understanding of depot operations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 required; rail traction and rolling stock experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand depot operations.
• Experience with rail vehicle maintenance activities and working within depot procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits and in accordance with all relevant procedures.
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to according to VMI & local instruction.
• Ensure work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring necessary actions are taken.
