Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is recruiting a Shift Fitter for our Crewe depot. You will maintain rail vehicles to laid-down procedures, report to the team leader, and work a 4 on 4 off, day/night schedule from 19:00 to 06:00. Role involves operating rail vehicles within depot limits and following safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have a Level 3 Engineering qualification and experience in rail vehicle maintenance, with a solid grasp of depot operations and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail vehicle maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of depot operations and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
• Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
• Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
• Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.

The Role

Working in our Crewe depot and reporting into the team leader you will be responsible for providing maintenance of rail vehicles to the laid down procedures.
