Job summary

Arriva Cymru Limited is seeking a Shift Fitter to join the Rhyl garage and maintain a fleet of PCV vehicles. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and involves servicing to Arriva and DVSA standards, fault diagnosis, and MOT preparation.

Shifts are 5 over 7, Sunday to Saturday, from 05:00 to 17:30, with overtime. Benefits include 25 days holiday, a contributory pension, a free bus pass for you and your family, and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (e.g., Level 3 NVQ).
• Ability to work safely and unsupervised to set standards and guidelines.
• Electrical knowledge is desirable but not required.
• PCV license is desirable but not essential.
• IRTEC accreditation is favourable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle standards.
• MOT preparation.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and maintaining reliability to Arriva standards (Higher than DVSA).
• Shifts are 5 over 7 Sunday to Saturday, 05:00–17:30.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
• MOT preparation
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA)
• Shifts are 5 over 7 Sunday to Saturday, shifts between 05.00 and 17.30.

Requirements

• Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
• Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines
• Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary
• A PCV license is desirable but not necessary
• Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable
