Job summary

Saputo Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a process operator to learn the production of dairy-free cheese, starting at a station and rotating to other stations for variety.

You will contribute to quality, complete on‑the‑job training, and work closely with colleagues to meet production targets. We offer real progression opportunities within a growing supply chain, a supportive team environment, and a site bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable with basic IT skills (Word and Excel an advantage).
• Efficient with problem solving.
• Able to communicate and work alone and as part of a team.
• Aware and able to demonstrate an understanding of basic food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate opportunities to improve working methods.
• Measure, grade and feed batches of raw materials into production machinery.
• Operate production line equipment, including cheese slicers and graters.
• Report equipment faults to maintenance staff.
• Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing, quality checks, and record results.
• Store goods and raw materials in the factory or warehouse.
• Pack goods to be ready for shipment on pallets.
• Clean and maintain work areas and machinery.
• Actively maintain production records.

This process operator position is one where you will gain experience of the making of dairy-free cheese, with your work going towards ensuring the production of quality products, both branded and private label (retailer own brands).

Within your role, you will be working at a station for your first few months, mastering the role, then gaining the opportunity to work at different stations along the process – offering variety in your day. If you need more time to develop, we will look at ways to support you further to help you get to where you need to be.
