Job summary

Wates is seeking a proactive Shift Engineer to join the Mercedes-Benz World site in Weybridge. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across high-profile facilities, focusing on building systems performance, energy efficiency and safety compliance.

You will manage first-line maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant, optimise systems for reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to site procedures and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical/maintenance roles within facilities or building services.
• Up-to-date electrical qualifications and awareness of applicable regs.
• IOSH Working Safely certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tasks (planned and reactive) within agreed timeframes and handover to the Manager.
• Carry out first-line maintenance on mechanical and electrical plant (pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs, SCADA).
• Monitor and optimise building systems for efficient operation and sustainability.
• Operate and maintain building services in line with site procedures and regulations.
• Occasional event coverage; overtime paid if outside shift pattern.
• Support other sites as required.
