WPS | Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains is seeking a Resident Engineer (Mechanical / Multi-Skilled) to join its facilities management team at the Brixworth site. You will maintain and optimise mechanical and building services across a demanding manufacturing facility, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

The role suits engineers with strong mechanical backgrounds, plus multi-skilled capability including electrical knowledge.

Formación

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in facilities management, manufacturing or critical environments.
• Experience with pumps, motors, HVAC systems, plant equipment and mechanical services.
• Multi-skilled with electrical knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience delivering maintenance in a client-facing environment.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services assets.
• Fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical systems and related equipment.
• Support HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, pipework and associated mechanical plant.
• Undertake basic electrical fault-finding where qualified.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and site emergencies.
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in line with compliance requirements.
• Keep maintenance records up to date in CAFM systems.
• Liaise with the client, subcontractors and wider engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased asset reliability.
• Support health, safety and environmental best practices on site.

We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join our facilities management team supporting our prestigious client, Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains, at their state-of-the-art facility in Brixworth.

The Role

As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising a wide range of mechanical and building services systems across a complex and demanding manufacturing facility. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong mechanical background, although multi-skilled engineers with electrical competencies will be highly regarded.

You will play a key role in ensuring plant, equipment and building systems operate safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime, while delivering an exceptional service experience to our client.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services assets.
• Fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical systems and associated equipment.
• Support HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, pipework and associated mechanical plant.
• Undertake basic electrical fault-finding where suitably qualified.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and site emergencies.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with statutory compliance requirements.
• Accurately update maintenance records through CAFM systems.
• Liaise directly with the client, subcontractors and wider engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased asset reliability.
• Support health, safety and environmental best practice across the site.

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Maintenance Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience within facilities management, manufacturing, industrial or critical environments.
• Experience working on pumps, motors, HVAC systems, plant equipment and mechanical services.
• Multi-skilled capability with electrical knowledge would be highly advantageous.
• Experience delivering maintenance within a client-facing environment.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
