Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Shift Engineer for a 4 on 4 off day shift at a large commercial building in Liverpool Street, London. The role covers mechanical and electrical maintenance across the site, with on‑site duties from 07:00 to 19:00 and a strong emphasis on safety and service standards.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (Level 2/3) with proven experience in large commercial properties, capable of handling BMS, lighting, pumps, and plumbing tasks, and ready to

Qualifications

• Electrically or mechanically qualified - Level 2 or 3 (C&G, NVQ, EAL etc).
• Experience working in a large commercial building.
• Trade certificates copies to be provided.
• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
• Multi-skilled with good communication and customer skills.
• Must be able to start on site at 07:00.

Responsibilities

• Carry out M&E and fabric maintenance in a large commercial building.
• Lighting maintenance and emergency lighting tests.
• Operate and monitor BMS (temperature and humidity).
• Maintain and update log books.
• Service pumps and motors; handle water systems.
• Ensure KPI and SLA compliance for the contract.
• Report faults to site management and liaise with the client.

Shift Engineer – 4 on 4 off day shift - Commercial building – Liverpool Street, London – £48,000 Per annum

Exciting opportunity to work for an established FM Property company based in London.CBW is currently recruiting for a shift engineer to be based at a commercial building in Liverpool Street, London.We're looking for a fully qualified mechanical or electrical engineer with a proven track record in commercial/property building maintenance who can handle a variety of maintenance tasks.He or she will be required to carry out mechanical/electrical planned and reactive maintenance across this large commercial building.Working with the maintenance team on site.He or she will be required to have an understanding/hands‑on experience of the below.In return, the company offers a competitive salary, further training, and overtime.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lighting (Small installation, Fault-finding, Lamping, etc)
• Emergency lighting tests
• Changing Ballast
• BMS System - Monitor (i.e.Hot & cold)
• Carry out all aspects of M&E/Fabric maintenance
• Maintain and update Log books
• Plumbing - Unblocking toilets
• Pumps, motors
• Water flushing / temp checks logs
• Boosted water pumps
• Ensure that the Contractual efficiently meets all the relevant KPI & SLA requirements.
• Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner.
• Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them.
• Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required.
• Maintain informal communications with Client staff members related to service levels and issues.
• Report service affecting issued to the site management team for formal communication with the client.
• Remain flexible with regard to site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency.

Requirements

• Electrically or mechanically qualified - Level 2 or 3 (C&G, NVQ, EAL ect)
• Experience working in a large commercial building
• You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
• A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
• Multi-skilled
• Good communication skills
• Excellent customer skills
• Must be able to get to the site for 07:00 am start
