Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd seeks a Shift Engineer in Preston to maintain and optimise production lines. The role covers corrugators, conveyors, and converting lines, with emphasis on PLC fault finding and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, sensors and automated machinery.
• Understanding of preventive and planned maintenance systems (PPM).

Responsibilities

• Corrugators maintenance and fault-finding.
• Conveyor systems including palletisers, strappers and wrappers.
• Box converting lines with print units, cutting units, stacking and folding.
• PLC faulting finding and electrical/mechanical diagnostics.

Salary: £52,000 + Pension + Overtime

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 2 days 2 nights 6-6

My client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers within its field of food based packaging products and associated processes. The group is a well established producer to the European markets and has been established over 30 years. The site in Preston is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this secure organisation.

The Role

• Corrugators
• Material handling conveyor systems (palletisers, strappers, and wrappers)
• Box converting lines which have print units, cutting units, stacking, and folding
• PLC Faulting finding

You will have served a minimum of ideally a full apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering and have experience working within planned and preventative maintenance schedules, working on conveyors, inverters, drives, sensors, plastics or insulation machines, packaging machines, motors, print units, cutting units, stacking, and folding machines.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for all production equipment including compliance with Health & Safety policies are met and any maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards. There is a huge scope and variety on offer, so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.
