Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd in Skelmersdale is seeking a Shift Mechanical Fitter to maintain and optimise rapid FMCG production lines. The role requires an engineering background with experience in automated machinery and a proactive approach to maintenance, including multi-skilled capabilities for day and night shifts.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and PLC systems, and support the maintenance team to maximise machine efficiency.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engineer in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance (PPM) within FMCG manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day engineering and maintenance tasks to high standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including control panels and distribution boards.
• Fault find and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC-driven machinery.
• Wire control panels for motor controls and pneumatic valves.
• Assist maintenance team with related tasks to keep production running.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and maximizing machine efficiencies. The successful candidate will come from an electrical or mechanical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer with either bias (but multi-skilled) and have fast moving manufacturing experience. On a day to day basis, you will.

• Perform preventive maintenance to all equipment and machineries.
• Conduct troubleshooting to all electrical systems including machine control panels, pneumatic control panels and distribution boards.
• Fault finding and repair to all mechanical systems, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC operated machineries.
• Wiring control panels for motor controls, pneumatic valves control, etc.
• Electrical installations and fault finding within the building premises.
• Support maintenance team on all maintenance related tasks.
