Job summary

The BoTree, a Conde Nast Best New Hotel 2025, is seeking a Shift Engineer to join our engineering team and uphold the highest standards of safety and guest comfort. This full‑time onsite role is based in London, with a flexible rota including weekends, 40 hours per week.

You will work across departments to keep hotel operations running smoothly, support sustainability initiatives, and ensure technical excellence in plumbing, electrical and fire safety systems, including KnowCross and Alert65.

Qualifications

• Experience in shift engineering roles within luxury hotels.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems and fire safety.
• Familiarity with KnowCross and Alert65 systems.
• Passion for sustainability and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily operations and safety compliance.
• Provide technical support to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Collaborate across departments to support hotel operations.

As a Shift Engineer, you are part of the engineering team, and collaborate across departments to ensure the hotel operates seamlessly while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Our Shift Engineer key responsibilities:

• Part of the engineering team, ensuring smooth daily operations and safety compliance.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through efficient and effective technical support.
• Support sustainability initiatives and energy-saving projects.
• Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and excellence.

What We’re Looking For in our Shift Engineer:

• Experience in shift engineering roles within luxury hotels.
• Effective knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, and related maintenance.
• Specific knowledge of our inhouse systems – KnowCross and Alert65.
• A passion for sustainability, luxury hospitality and guest satisfaction.

Full-time onsite role: 40 hours per week, with a flexible rota including weekends.
