Job summary

The Dorchester Hotel in London is seeking a Shift Engineer to support our 5-star operation, providing day and night coverage to ensure exceptional guest experiences. You will maintain plant rooms and perform mechanical and electrical tasks as required to keep the hotel running smoothly.

You will carry out duties from drawings, requisition installation materials, and guide operatives on proper methods, while collaborating with fellow engineers on planned preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Shift Engineer or similar position in a 5 star Hotel.
• Strong verbal communication skills – English is the primary language used in our hotel.
• Good communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.

Responsibilities

• Care for the Hotel during day and night shifts to ensure guests receive the best experience.
• Check essential plants and repairs during the day.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical work, set out jobs from drawings, requisition materials and instruct operatives.

What you'll do

As a Shift Engineer, you'll enjoy your work and take pride in delighting our guests:

• You will be responsible for caring for the Hotel during their day and night shifts to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience.
• You will be responsible for checking all essential plants and repairs where necessary during their day.
• You will carry out mechanical and electrical work, setting out jobs from drawings, specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials as well as instruct operatives in the methods to complete the job.
• You will be dealing with day to day requests
• You will be working together with other Engineers on the PPM programs
