Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Shift Engineer (Electrical) to join the University of Leeds Facilities Management team in Leeds. The role covers planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a diverse estate, ensuring safe, compliant operations for staff, students and visitors.

Applicants should have Electrical NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition, with FM/building services experience; DBS checks apply. The position is full-time and on-site at the University of Leeds.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with Building Services/Facilities Maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Complete maintenance tasks in line with compliance and health & safety requirements.
• Support operation and maintenance of building services systems and associated plant.
• Accurately complete job records and compliance documentation.
• Respond to emergency callouts and support business continuity.
