Job summary

Cadent is seeking a SHES Advisor to support the safe and sustainable delivery of our Capital Delivery projects. You will provide expert guidance on Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting a proactive safety culture across operations.

In this hybrid role, you will work with project teams, contractors and regulators to embed best practice, lead incident investigations and drive continuous improvement in SHES performance.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent), with 3–5 years’ experience in a SHES advisory role.
• Understanding of CDM, GSMR, PSSR, ISO 14001 and other relevant standards and regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and influence others.
• Experience in incident reporting, risk assessment and performance analysis.
• Commitment to compliance, continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of major construction projects across Cadent’s Capital Delivery portfolio.
• Provide expert guidance on SHES legislation, risk management and compliance.
• Promote a zero-harm environment by collaborating with internal teams, contractors and regulators.
• Contribute to audits, incident investigations and development of best practice.

As aSHES Advisor at Cadent, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe and sustainable delivery of our Capital Delivery projects. You will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability (SHES), ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting a proactive safety culture across our operations.

Working closely with project teams, contractors and regulatory bodies, you will help embed best practice, support incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement in SHES performance.
