Job Opportunity: SHEQ Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a SHEQ Manager.

The Role

The SHEQ Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all aspects of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality systems across the organization. This role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality across multiple project sites, oversees risk management, and supports project delivery teams with SHEQ-related issues.

• Hours: 35 - 40 hours (Negotiable)
• Contract type: Permanent
• Location: Limavady/Cookstown (Travel within UK sites required)

To be successful, you should have excellent organizational and communication skills, a proactive, hands-on approach, a mindset geared towards continuous improvement, and work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. SHEQ Leadership & Strategy: Develop and lead the SHEQ strategy aligned with business goals. Promote awareness and compliance. Lead audits and manage certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
2. Health & Safety: Oversee safety operations, conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and ensure safety documentation is current.
3. Environmental Management: Enforce environmental policies, monitor impact, and implement sustainability initiatives.
4. Quality Assurance: Maintain Quality Management Systems, conduct audits, and support continuous improvement.
5. Project Management Support: Collaborate with project teams, ensure SHEQ compliance, and monitor documentation.
6. Training & Development: Identify training needs, deliver SHEQ training, and maintain training records.

Essential Criteria

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years SHEQ experience in engineering or construction
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation and standards
• Experience managing site safety on engineering projects
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Effective communication skills at all levels

Desirable Criteria

• Lead Auditor qualifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
