We are currently seeking a dedicated Marine HSE Advisor to provide specialist support to our offshore projects and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

As a Marine HSE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of Health, Safety and Environmental responsibility in support of our offshore projects. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on Marine and HSE matters, ensuring that all activities comply with relevant legislation and company policies.

You will play a key role in supporting and implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in marine activities within offshore operations. Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and being part of a dynamic and diverse team of subject matter experts, you will contribute to a comprehensive audit program while providing delivery teams with specialised support to ensure the highest levels of offshore safety and compliance.

• Minimum of 5 years of providing SHE advice in a dynamic offshore marine environment within the construction industry experience (Essential)
• Good knowledge of international maritime regulations, statutory requirements, marine safety and security code (ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS Code) (Essential)
• NEBOSH – General Certificate / IOSH or equivalent or other professional SHE qualification (Essential)

Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management

• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Personally committed to finding new ways of working in conjunction with others to achieve business goals.
• Passion for embedding a positive health and safety culture within and externally of the organisation.
• Driven and committed to implementing positive change with your approach to HSE.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
• Experience of working with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
• Technical or Specialist
• Dedicated safety role within the marine environment
• Current valid UK driving license
• Previous experience with investigative tools
• Auditor experience i.e., safety management systems

What you'll do

• Review contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and permit to work systems ensuring that the Principal Contractors are pro-active in discharging their duties under ISM Code and CDM regulations across the portfolio.
• Interface with the contractor(s) for all day-to-day activities, and monitor project progress, collaboratively resolving programme risk escalations on behalf of Project Managers.
• Perform vessel assurance activities in line with business processes to ensure contractor vessels meet safety standards and requirements of their flag and class.
• Participate in incident investigations and assist the project and investigation team, including managing reporting systems and necessary actions.
• Verify project compliance of vessel/site documents to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Support the Marine SHEQ Manager in the creation and review of marine management systems, to continually improve the companies SHE performance.
• Monitor SHEQ performance for projects and proactively support continual improvements initiatives including follow up on audits, investigations and corrective actions.
• Drive company standards and behaivours in all SHE matters, in line with the company purpose and values.
• Maintain accurate Contractor HSE data records.

What you'll get

A competitive salary of up to £65,000 – dependent on capability.
