GDS Partners are recruiting an EHS Advisor for a permanent role based in Colchester. The client is a well-established M&E contractor delivering high-profile projects across the UK.

The role involves carrying out site inspections, audits, risk assessments and ensuring compliance with UK health & safety legislation. You will review RAMS and permits, investigate incidents, deliver inductions and drive continuous safety improvements across sites.

Qualifications

• Relevant health & safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
• Experience in the construction or M&E sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach with ability to build strong site relationships.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments.

• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
• Provide practical health & safety advice to site management and project teams.

About the role

Main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Review and monitor RAMS, permits to work, and other EHS documentation.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
• Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to site management and project teams.
• Monitor EHS performance and prepare reports where required.
• Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across all projects.

To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:

• A relevant Health & Safety qualification, e.g., NEBOSH
