Job summary

JMC Aviation Limited in Luton is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to join our permanent team. You will work under a Certifying Engineer on aircraft maintenance, performing SMW tasks and interpreting technical drawings to support complex repairs.

The role requires proven aviation maintenance experience, strong hand skills, and understanding of Part 145 regulatory requirements; a recognised apprenticeship is preferred. The company offers growth, training, and a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal work on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring, filling insets and general SMW activities.
• Maintain work area, equipment and records to be audit ready.
• Manufacture and fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels, doors etc from various service aircraft.
• Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings
• Carry out maintenance, repairs, fabrication of parts and/or production tasks to the standard specified in the technical data and notify supervisors of defects or mistakes requiring rectification.
• Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role

Shifts: 5/5/4 night shifts (19:00 – 07:00)

About the Role

Working with and under the guidance of the Certifying Engineer on the aircraft as allocated. Supporting them with all aspects of Aircraft Maintenance performed by the Company. The role will involve having an in depth understanding of the structural repair manual, along with the necessary hand skills to complete complex repairs on a variety of aircraft.

Candidate Requirements

• Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Human Factors and Compliance requirements
• A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar
