Job summary

JMC Aviation Limited is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker in Luton to support aircraft maintenance under the guidance of Certifying Engineers. The role involves detailed SMW tasks, interpreting drawings and performing repairs on a range of aircraft structures.

The successful candidate will have extensive sheet metal skills, a recognised apprenticeship in the aircraft industry and a solid background in aviation maintenance, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal work on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring and general SMW activities.
• Maintain work area, equipment and records to be audit ready.
• Manufacture and fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels and doors from various services aircraft.
• Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings.
• Carry out maintenance, repairs, fabrication of parts to the data standards and report defects.
• Ad hoc project work within the scope of the role.

• Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker
• Location: Luton
• Employment Type: Permanent
• Shifts:5/5/4 night shifts (19:00-07:00)

About the Role

Working with and under the guidance of the Certifying Engineer on the aircraft as allocated. Supporting them with all aspects of Aircraft Maintenance performed by the Company. The role will involve having an in depth understanding of the structural repair manual, along with the necessary hand skills to complete complex repairs on a variety of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal work activities on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring, filling insets and general SMW activities.
• Maintain work area, equipment and records to be audit ready.
• Manufacture and fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels, doors etc from various services aircraft.
• Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings
• Be able to carry out maintenance, repairs, fabrication of parts and /or production tasks to the standard specified in the technical data and notify supervisors of defects or mistakes requiring rectification.
• Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent SMW hand skills
• Proven work history in an aviation maintenance environment
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Human Factors and Compliance requirements
• A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar
