Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Location: Biggleswade

We currently have a vacancy to join a company that specializes in the restoration of historical aircraft. The role will be based just outside of Biggleswade, working 40 hours per week. Flexible working hours are available, including the option to condense hours into 4 days per week (10 hours per day).

The company, established over 30 years ago, operates, maintains, and restores vintage military aircraft. They hold BCAR A8-21, 23, and 25 certifications, with capabilities ranging from reverse engineering design work to restoration, maintenance, and airworthiness management of non Part 21 aircraft.

Their skilled team of engineers upholds high standards of authenticity and craftsmanship, serving aviation enthusiasts and collectors, ensuring the legacy of historic aircraft continues to inspire future generations.

Due to expanding workload, they are recruiting an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join their vintage aircraft restoration team.

This position offers engaging and varied work in a unique environment with many ongoing projects and exciting future work.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Stripping, cleaning, restoring, and reassembling metal aircraft structures
2. Sheet metal fabrication

About You:

• Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication is essential, including folding, shrinking/stretching, and hammer forming (wheeling skills are desirable but not essential)
• You will have completed a recognized aerospace engineering apprenticeship or demonstrated relevant on-the-job training
• Proven experience in major repair or manufacturing of metal aircraft structures
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills
