Job summary

TAY Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer on a permanent basis to work across multiple new-build residential developments in South East Wales, with Cardiff as a base. You will be responsible for accurate setting out, levels, gridlines, and reading construction drawings to ensure positions are correct.

We are seeking an experienced engineer with proven surveying skills, total station and GPS usage, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience setting out on residential construction projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out accurate setting out for new-build residential developments.
• Establishing site levels, gridlines, foundations and building positions.
• Interpreting and working from engineering drawings and construction plans.
• Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with specifications and project requirements.
• Monitoring site progress and ensuring setting out is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and other members of the project team.
• Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Identifying and resolving any setting out issues as they arise.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis, working across a range of new-build residential developments throughout South East Wales.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within the construction industry.
• Experience working on new-build residential developments is essential.
• Competent in interpreting technical drawings and construction plans.
• Proficient in using surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
