Job summary

Future Engineering Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join a major Somerset groundworks project, taking ownership of site engineering activities and delivering accurate setting out and surveys on a busy construction site.

You will work with total stations, GPS and levelling instruments, checking drawings and levels against design, while maintaining detailed survey records. The role offers progression toward senior engineering and project management as the project pipeline grows.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer on construction projects.
• Confidence using total stations, GPS equipment and levelling instruments.
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings and coordinate with site teams.
• A background in civil engineering or a related construction discipline.
• The ability to commute to a site near Bridgwater.

Join an established main contractor delivering a major construction project in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer looking to take ownership of site engineering activities while developing their career on a technically challenging build.

Work closely with an experienced project team, supporting the accurate delivery of groundworks, foundations and structural packages. You'll join a business with a strong pipeline of work and opportunities to progress into senior engineering and project management positions.

Your Role as a Setting Out Engineer Will Include:
