Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Vending Engineer to cover the Southampton and Portsmouth area. This varied role combines field-based work with time spent in an on-site workshop, servicing, maintaining and repairing vending machines and diagnosing faults.

You will work independently on customer sites and in the workshop, keeping accurate records, following health and safety procedures and communicating clearly with customers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vending Engineer is essential.
• Strong fault‑finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field‑based workload.
• Comfortable working both on customer sites and in a workshop.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on vending machines and equipment.
• Attend customer sites across the Southampton and Portsmouth area to resolve equipment issues.
• Diagnose faults and identify repair solutions.
• Complete workshop‑based maintenance, repairs and equipment checks.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure vending equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and any repairs required.
• Keep tools and equipment in good working order.
• Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to resolve technical issues.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.

This is a varied, hands‑on role combining field-based work with time spent in an on‑site workshop. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing vending machines, diagnosing faults and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with vending machines, strong fault‑finding skills and a practical approach to resolving technical issues. You will need to be comfortable working independently out in the field as well as alongside colleagues in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on vending machines and associated equipment
• Attend customer sites across the Southampton and Portsmouth area to investigate and resolve equipment issues
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions

• Previous experience as a Vending Engineer is essential

• Confident fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a field‑based workload
• Comfortable working both on customer sites and in a workshop
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Reliable, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
• Full UK driving licence
