Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd client is seeking a Field Service Vending Engineer to join their team in Oxfordshire. This role is field-based, requires you to be on the road, and focuses on installing, servicing and repairing vending and coffee machines with a hands-on, customer‑facing approach.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, replace components, test equipment, and complete accurate service reports while building positive relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering background with fault-finding, maintenance, servicing or repairs.
• Experience with vending machines or catering equipment is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience using hand tools and basic test equipment.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Independently capable and customer-focused.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to install, service, maintain, and repair vending and coffee machines.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault-finding to identify faults and determine repairs.
• Diagnose issues across electrical, mechanical, electronic, and component faults.
• Repair, replace, and test components as needed.
• Install, commission, test and service equipment at customer sites.
• Respond to breakdowns and service calls to minimise downtime.
• Use technical knowledge to investigate and resolve faults.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend customer sites to install, service, maintain, and repair vending machines, coffee machines, and other associated appliances.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault-finding to identify faults and determine the appropriate repair.
• Diagnose issues with vending and coffee machines, including electrical, mechanical, electronic, and component-related faults.
• Repair, replace, and test components where required.
• Carry out installation, commissioning, testing, and servicing of equipment at customer sites.
• Respond to breakdowns and service calls, working efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
• Use technical knowledge and practical engineering skills to investigate and resolve faults.
• Complete accurate service reports, job sheets, and maintenance records.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while providing professional on-site support.

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• A practical, hands-on engineering background with experience of fault-finding, maintenance, servicing, or repairs.
• Experience working with vending machines, coffee machines, catering equipment, electrical appliances, or similar machinery is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience using hand tools and basic test equipment.
• Ability to understand technical information, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers.
• Full UK driving licence required.
