Job summary

Capital One in the UK seeks a Service Transition Consultant to ensure new and changed services land in production reliably and with robust operational foundations. You will partner with project teams during design, influence outcomes on reliability and observability, and own service readiness across the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes hands-on engagement, continuous improvement, and collaboration with SRE, Product Engineering, and Service Operations to deliver across the delivery and support

Qualifications

• Experience implementing in a live IT infrastructure environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Agile project management.

Responsibilities

• Manage, track and prioritise service requirements for new/changed services and manage them through to completion.
• Partner with project/engineering teams during design to consult on supportability, reliability and operational readiness.
• Consult on Service Level Objectives for new/changed services and govern standards and tooling.
• Map dependencies and operational impact of new/changed services.
• Champion observability and support documentation with engineering to resolve discrepancies.
• Formulate action plans for service risks and ensure non-negotiable requirements are met.
• Build partnerships across SRE, Product Engineering, and Service Operations as a link between delivery and support.
• Influence decisions for service acceptance and production readiness; advise on go/no-go.
• Act as Change Manager for production deployments.
• Contribute to continual improvement of Service Transition processes and procedures.
