Autotech Recruit is seeking a skilled Service Technician for a well-established automotive retailer in Newbury. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, diagnose faults and liaise with customers to provide updates on repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent required.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician or Service Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• MOT Tester qualification advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Team player with good time management and organisation.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and workmanship.

Responsibilities

Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: £37,000 - £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour lunch) + 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8:30am - 12:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct vehicle health checks and identify any additional work required.
• Work in line with dealership and manufacturer processes.
• Support junior technicians and share technical knowledge where appropriate.
• Liaise with customers when required, providing updates on vehicle repairs and servicing.
• Attend ongoing manufacturer and technical training courses.
• Complete workshop documentation and job records accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Ensure all work is completed to high quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

• Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• MOT Tester qualification advantageous.
• Previous dealership or franchise experience preferred.Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and workmanship.
