Job summary

Autotech Recruit is recruiting a Service Technician for a busy Salisbury workshop. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles to dealership standards, performing health checks and diagnosing faults. The role offers an uncapped bonus scheme and ongoing training.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, a relevant qualification (NVQ3/City & Guilds), a full UK driving licence, and good communication skills. Career progression within a growing automotive group is highlighted.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds or equivalent preferred.
• Full UK driving licence. MOT Tester is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Complete inspections and health checks, identify additional work.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to a high standard.
• Maintain safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Provide updates to customers and participate in training.

Salary: £37,000 – £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus
Hours: Full Time, Permanent

A well-established automotive retailer is looking to recruit a skilled Service Technician to join its busy aftersales team in Salisbury. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Complete inspections and vehicle health checks, identifying any additional work required.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to a high standard.
• Work in accordance with dealership and manufacturer processes.
• Liaise with customers where appropriate, providing technical updates and advice.
• Support and mentor less experienced technicians when required.
• Attend training courses to maintain and develop technical knowledge.
• Accurately complete workshop documentation and job records.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician within a professional workshop environment.
• Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent (preferred).
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good IT and computer literacy.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet productivity targets.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Previous dealership experience would be beneficial.
