Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a capable Compressed Air Field Service Engineer to join our team. The role will focus on maintenance, breakdowns and commissioning across compressed air equipment, predominantly in the north west of England with travel and overnight stays as required.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive compressed air knowledge, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently from our Preston office.

Qualifications

• HNC level in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or Electromechanical discipline is required.
• Proven diagnostic skills on complex electrical/mechanical systems.
• Extensive product knowledge within the compressed air industry; PC literacy is essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to perform breakdown repairs on all compressed air generating equipment.
• Attend customer sites to perform preventative maintenance on all compressed air generating equipment.
• Maintain clear communications with customers and internal teams to confirm job requirements.
• Liaise with customers to secure approval before work proceeds.
• Operate in compliance with company EHS guidelines.

Job description

The opportunity has arisen to join the Ingersoll Rand Family. We are now looking for an experienced Compressed Air Field Service Engineer to join the team. Responsible for Maintenance, Breakdowns & Commissioning on all makes of Compressed air equipment. The role will mainly cover the north west of England however some further travel and overnight stays may be required. The ideal candidate will have experience in all types of compressed air technologies.

Responsibilities

• To attend the customer's site to perform breakdown repairs on all compressed air generating equipment.
• To attend the customer's site to perform preventative maintenance on all compressed air generating equipment.
• Maintain verbal and written communications with customers and others as seen necessary in a professional manner. Liaise with the technical or office-based personnel to achieve a clear understanding of specific job requirements as necessary.
• Liaise with customers to ensure that any work is done with their approval.
• Operate in accordance with company EHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC level in an Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or Electromechanical discipline.
• Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical/mechanical systems.
• Extensive product knowledge within the compressed air industry. PC literate.
• Full driving license.

Travel & Work Arrangements / Requirements

• Field based role, operating out of our Preston Office.
• Must be willing to travel extensively in north west England region with overnight stays as required.

Key Competencies

• Ability to work alone possessing a balanced judgement.
• Commercial Awareness.
• Willing to travel at short notice. Minimum 5 years' experience in the compressed air industry.
• Ability to communicate well and deal with others.
• Must be customer centric.
