Job summary

Square One Resources in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Service Sustainability Programme Lead to own the programme roadmap and drive improvements across stability, resilience, recoverability and operational controls. The role focuses on reducing operational risk, improving service performance and delivering measurable business outcomes.

The position offers £495 per day inside IR35, a 6-month initial contract and is 3 days onsite per week, with cross-functional coordination across Technology,

Qualifications

• 7 years' experience in technology delivery, programme management, resilience or transformation.
• Strong programme/project management and delivery experience.
• Practical understanding of operational resilience, DR/BCP, RTO/RPO and failover.
• Experience with technology risk, controls, remediation and audit readiness.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, cloud and application teams.
• Experience managing vendors or third parties.
• Strong risk-based approach to prioritisation and delivery.
• Experience within a regulated or financial services environment is highly desirable.
• PRINCE2, Agile, PMP or ITIL certification would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own the Service Sustainability Programme roadmap and prioritised remediation backlog.
• Drive initiatives covering resilience, technical debt, obsolescence, controls, monitoring and recoverability.
• Coordinate delivery across Technology, Product, Operations, Cyber, Risk and third-party suppliers.
• Lead programme governance, including RAID, dependencies, milestones and steering forums.
• Produce executive reporting on progress, risks and decisions.
• Drive audit and control readiness, ensuring evidence is captured and exceptions are actively managed.
• Track benefits including reduced major incidents, improved availability, stronger DR compliance and reduced technical debt.
• Influence senior stakeholders, secure resources and remove delivery blockers.
