Job summary

Whale Tankers Limited in Solihull is seeking a Service Operations Manager to lead the field service, workshop, remount and service office teams. You will drive customer satisfaction and sustainable growth through strong leadership, process improvement, and KPI-focused performance management.

The role requires senior level service/operational management experience, a background in HGV/Plant/Tanker sectors, and proven ability to develop and embed KPIs while promoting a safety culture.

Qualifications

• Senior level service or operational management experience is required for this role.
• Must come from a HGV, Plant, Tanker or associated background where quick turn around on repairs are imperative to customer satisfaction.
• Strong interpersonal and team management skills
• Demonstratable evidence of creating and embedding KPI’s and objectives
• Self-motivation and a positive attitude
• Ability to work on your own initiative and make decisions
• Be an effective team player and actively contribute to our continual improvement culture
• Computer Literate including all MS Office Applications
• Strong organisational, process and project management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
• Experience in change management would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• The Service Operation Manager will provide leadership & management to the field service, workshop, remount & service office teams.
• Deliver exceptional customer service leading to sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.
• Develop, enhance, and embed service processes and working methods.
• Oversee and improve team performance including Engineer utilisation and efficiency improvements.
• Lead the service operation to achieve P&L.
• Lead and promote a positive safety culture throughout the team.
