Job summary

Prospectus IT Recruitment is seeking a capable automotive technician in Croydon to service, repair and maintain vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will use current diagnostic equipment to trace faults, perform health checks and recommend additional work where needed.

The role also involves completing MOT tests if you hold the qualification, working efficiently in a busy workshop, and participating in manufacturer training to stay current with technical bulletins.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is required or preferred.
• Customer service oriented with attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards.

Job description

This is a strong basic salary with realistic earnings on top, in the aftersales team of an established Croydon dealership. The workshop is modern and busy, and management wants technicians who take pride in doing a job properly.

What you'll be doing

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards
• Using current diagnostic equipment to trace and fix faults
• Completing vehicle health checks and recommending any further work
• Carrying out MOT tests if you hold the qualification
• Working efficiently and safely to a consistently high standard
• Helping keep the workshop productive, tidy and professional
• Completing manufacturer training and keeping up with technical bulletins

What we're looking for

• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Workshop or dealership experience (preferred)
• Diagnostic experience (an advantage)
• MOT Tester qualification (desirable but not essential)
• A full UK driving licence
• A positive attitude, attention to detail and a commitment to good customer service
• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
