Qualifications

  • Prior experience with external regulatory inspections.

  • Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Degree in social work, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable individuals with complex needs and substance misuse.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned supported living services.
  • Ensure that services are delivered in line with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain high standards of care and support, promoting independence and quality of life for service user.
  • Work closely with HR to recruit, train, supervise, and support staff, including support workers and care assistants.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels are always maintained including rota management.
  • Address any staff issues or grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits from regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by regulatory authorities.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
  • Manage the petty service user's petty cash.
  • Monitor and control expenditure, ensuring services operate within budget.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts as required.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to improve service delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure continuous improvement in the unit.
  • Collect and respond to feedback from service users and their families.
  • Monitor and supervise all clinical audit such as medication, care plan and risk assessment with the online care system.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff and service users.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for service users, families, and external agencies and management.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and community organizations.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the care and support of service users.

Role Description

The Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hastings, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of supported living services with experience supporting mental health vulnerable adult. The role includes managing staff rotas, providing supervision and support to support workers, and ensuring that care is delivered in line with regulatory standards and company policies. The Service Manager will monitor service quality, review support plans, handle incident reporting, and maintain accurate documentation. This role also involves liaising with local authorities, health professionals, and families, managing budgets, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The Service Manager will lead by example, promoting a positive workplace culture that prioritizes safeguarding, inclusion, and person-centered practice.
