Ready to take the lead within a well-established agricultural machinery business? This Service Manager role offers the chance to manage an experienced team, build strong customer relationships and have a genuine influence on the success of the service operation.

Based around Burgess Hill, you'll be joining an established agricultural business with a busy service department supporting customers across the region. You'll have plenty of ownership in the role, from keeping the workshop running efficiently to supporting technicians and making sure customers receive the service they expect.

The role

As Service Manager, you'll be the link between the workshop, customers and senior management, making sure everything comes together effectively.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and supporting the service team, helping technicians stay productive and motivated


• Organising workshop workloads and making sure jobs are progressed efficiently


• Acting as a key point of contact for customers and handling any issues professionally


• Keeping an eye on departmental performance, profitability and KPIs


• Managing warranty processes and ensuring claims are dealt with accurately


• Working with technicians to maintain high standards of repair and customer service


• Dealing with day-to-day team matters and supporting the development of staff


• Planning ahead for particularly busy periods, including harvest


• Making practical decisions to keep the department running smoothly

What we're looking for

This role would suit someone who understands agricultural machinery and is ready to take their next step into, or further develop their career in, service management.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience within agricultural machinery


• Experience supervising or managing a team


• A good understanding of workshop/service operations


• Knowledge of New Holland or Case machinery would be a real advantage


• An understanding of KPIs, profitability and warranty processes


• The confidence to deal with customers and technicians at all levels


• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities


• A practical approach to solving problems and keeping things moving


• The confidence to make decisions and work independently
