Based in Doncaster, this on-site role covers the UK, diagnosing faults, carrying out planned maintenance and repairs to ammonia refrigeration systems, with 24/7 remote monitoring support.

You will collaborate with the European engineering team, maintain compliant service records, and relay clear, technical updates to clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience in industrial refrigeration or related field.
• Hands-on ammonia refrigeration system experience; ammonia handling certificate is essential.
• Full UK driving licence; right to work in the UK.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Clear client-facing communication and ability to work independently.

Step into a hands-on Service Engineer role with a sustainability-led industrial refrigeration specialist, working across the UK with the backing of three decades of European engineering heritage.

A well established European manufacturer of advanced industrial refrigeration systems is expanding its UK service operation and looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join the team.With more than thirty years of design and manufacturing expertise behind it, the business has built its reputation on natural refrigerant technology, supporting clients across food production, logistics and process industries as they move towards lower-carbon, more energy-efficient operations.Every system installed is paired with a 24/7 remote monitoring platform that tracks performance live and flags issues before they affect the customer.

This is a full-time, on site Service Engineer position based in England, with the Doncaster area being the ideal home base given the geographic spread of clients.You will be the face of the business in the field - diagnosing faults, carrying out planned maintenance, completing repairs and keeping mission-critical refrigeration plant running at peak performance.

The role

Reporting into the UK service operation, the Service Engineer will own the day-to-day technical wellbeing of installed systems across customer sites.Expect a varied schedule of reactive callouts, scheduled servicing and commissioning support, with full back-up from the European engineering team and access to live data through the remote monitoring platform.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

• Diagnosing and resolving technical faults across industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia plant
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to keep units running efficiently and safely
• Attending breakdown callouts and completing on-site repairs to a high standard
• Supporting installations, commissioning and performance testing of new equipment
• Working alongside the remote monitoring team to interpret data and act on alerts
• Communicating clearly with clients on-site, explaining work carried out and any follow-up required
• Maintaining accurate service records, job sheets and compliance documentation

Here are the skills you’ll need

• Minimum three years' experience in industrial machinery manufacturing or industrial refrigeration service
• Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
• Ammonia handling certificate is essential - this is a non-negotiable requirement
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical and control systems
• Confidence working independently, managing your own diary and prioritising callouts
• Clear communication skills for client-facing technical conversations
• A full, valid UK driving licence
• Relevant technical qualifications or industry certifications would be advantageous
