Job summary

Control Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a multiskilled maintenance/service engineer to join a market-leading packaging equipment provider. The role covers service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns across diverse packaging lines.

You will read schematics, fault-find and repair, educate customers on operation, and travel mainly within the UK with potential Ireland/Europe work. Training and progression paths are available.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience uploading/downloading software to machine components, PLCs, HMIs or similar control systems.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home—Ireland or European work possible occasionally.
• Health & safety and hygiene focused, friendly, proactive, good communication, desire to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Roles available in areas such as slicing/processing, thermoforming, or end-of-line packaging machinery.
• Handle machinery such as checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray inspection, pack validation systems, sealing systems and automation.

Salary circa £50,000 - 60,0000 basic + car + overtime + private health care + 10 - 15% bonus + pension + 33 days holiday + training + credit card, fuel card, expenses, allowances

Hours Monday to Friday (weekend work / overtime available if desired)

The Job:

• Varied work including service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings / schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Different roles available typically in 3 areas; can be working on slicing and processing machinery, thermoforming machinery or end of line packaging machinery.
• Machinery such as checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray inspection, pack validation vision systems, sealing machinery, seal integrity systems, automated boxing and sleeving systems, end of line inspection and automation systems.

The Person:

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience in uploading and downloading software to machine components, PLCs, HMIs or similar control systems.
• Flexible to travel and stay away from home - a couple to a few nights per month on average. Ireland or European work available occasionally.
• Health & safety and hygiene focused, friendly, proactive, good communication, desire to learn and improve.
