Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and Commission a range of packaging machinery across the North UK. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, install and maintain equipment, and deliver onsite client support with a focus on customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, travel across the North UK (M62), and the ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Experience with packaging machinery or similar capital equipment.
• Able to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, install and commission packaging machinery.
• Travel to customer sites across the North UK – M62.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support.
• Work with automation, controls, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on-site.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.

The Role

Requirements

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience within packaging machinery, automation, food processing or a similar capital equipment environment
• Confident fault finding and diagnosing technical issues
• Experience with PLCs, automation and control systems would be advantageous
• Able to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Proactive, professional and able to work independently on-site
• A genuine team player who values customer satisfaction
