Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Service Desk Engineer for our Technology Centre in Stoke Gifford, Bristol. The role involves second-line application support, handling incidents with ITIL processes, and ensuring systems remain reliable and available.

You will interact with internal users, gain exposure to enterprise databases, and have clear development pathways within IT service management and application support. This is a full-time, site-based position.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting software applications in a service/operational environment.
• Knowledge of IT service management tools for incident handling.
• Technical understanding of databases, including Oracle and SQL.
• Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Resolve application support incidents using ITIL-aligned processes.
• Investigate and respond to support requests via phone and email within SLAs.
• Prioritise workloads and ensure positive customer outcomes.
• Record, update and communicate progress using service management tools.
• Collaborate with wider IT teams and escalate when needed.
