Your new company

Hays Technology is recruiting a Service Designer on a permanent basis to join a growing public sector organization. You will report to the IT Programme Manager and join during a period of large-scale transformation.

Your new role

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end service design projects, identify emerging trends, data-driven improvement opportunities, and end-user needs to shape innovative services that deliver both business impact and end-user value. You will champion user-centric design by conducting workshops to understand end-user behaviors and creating solutions aligned with strategic objectives. You will design, test, and iterate prototypes, using measurable outcomes to validate hypotheses and inform future decisions, working closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, developers, and operations to co-create solutions that balance desirability, operational feasibility, and business viability.

What you’ll need to succeed

• A strong portfolio of IT service design deliverables to showcase your work
• Experience in working on complex, end-to-end service design initiatives, from research and strategy to implementation
• Ability to clearly articulate design concepts, strategies, and decisions to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders
• Proficiency in service design methods, including user research, journey mapping, service blueprints, prototyping, and workshop facilitation
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesize content into concise summaries
• This position requires a DBS check
