Qualifications

  • Level 3 Qualification in Engineering – NVQ is preferred.

  • Competence Assessor A1 / A2 trained or working towards.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.

The Role

Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will assist with ensuring all areas of the business are kept up to date, support the management of depot movements and help to manage team leaders, fitters and fuel point assistants day to day.

What You’ll Do

Lead, support, motivate and work with the members of the maintenance teams to achieve the set production targets as well as identify and implement best practice and operational efficiencies.

To support the Training and Competence team with local assessments and training of staff members.

To ensure trains are maintained cleaned and serviced safely to agreed quality standards to meet the operational requirements for both ATC and its Customers.

Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant ATC Depot site.

Hold 121s and RTW’s with direct reports in a timely fashion – should DM not be available.

Carry out initial training of new staff members including overnight operations. Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job requirements and have the relevant training to do so.

Maintain good employee relations with direct team and follow HR policies and procedures when dealing with ER matters.

Manage operational incidents to minimise disruption to both ATC infrastructure and customer’s services.

Ensure that all staff within the team structures receives technical / non-technical and Safety briefs as and when required. Ensure compliance with required close out timelines.

Act as the PICoTM for all movements on depot and DP for setting up safe systems of work for the duration of your Duty.

Daily management of all stores deliveries to include booking stock into the ATC system and support carrying out weekly depot stock checks.

Direct management of all calibrated items, fuel stock ordering and control of depot waste streams.

Responsible for the effective recording of activity in accordance with Company, Customer and best practice Standards, utilising SAP, Maximo and E2M.

Carry out safety tours and ensure actions are closed in a timely manner.

What You Bring

Level 3 Qualification in Engineering – NVQ is preferred

Good understanding of rail vehicle maintenance

Competence Assessor A1 / A2 trained or working towards

Sound understanding of railway reporting and IT systems including and not limited to Equinox, SAP, Maximo, Realtime trains and Nexala / E2M.

Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
